Clint “Jake” Jacobsen
ST. GEORGE, Utah - Our loving Spouse, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Uncle, Brother, and Friend, Clint “Jake” Jacobsen, passed away July 21, 2009 at home surrounded by the love of his family.
Clinton was born October 24, 1934 in Emery, Utah to Martha and Arnold Jacobsen.
He married the love of his life, Joy Bowden, on May 22, 1956. Their marriage was solemnized on February 9, 1962 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War and worked as a Civil Service Police Officer at HAFB for 26 years. After an early retirement from HAFB, he worked 10 years as head of Security for Job Corp Depot. He also worked security at McKay Dee and Primary Children’s Hospitals.
They retired to Scipio Utah in 2001. Clint served as Campground Host at Maple Grove Campground for three years with Joy, a job he dearly loved because he could do the things he enjoyed most - camping, fishing, and horseback riding.
He was a High Priest and served in many callings for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In 2003, Joy and Clint served in the Cove Fort Mission.
He is survived by his wife, Joy, of St. George; daughters: Linda (Mike) Allen, Peterson, UT; Debbie (Richard) Stringer, Kanab, UT; Shauna(FJ) Parker, Farmington, UT; Ed(Terry)Jacobsen, Hesperia, CA; Lane(Rhonda)Jacobsen, Nogales, AZ; Craig Jacobsen, Tucson, AZ; Scott(Lara)Jacobsen, VA; 27 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and grandson Adam Bera.
Funeral services will be held Saturday July 25th at 11 a.m. at the Scipio, UT Ward Chapel. A viewing will be held at 9:45 AM.
Graveside Services will be held Saturday, July 25th at 3:30 p.m. at Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 North Fairfield Road, Layton UT.
