CLONE WOOLSEY NEWMAN

May 9, 1921 ~ July 4, 2014

Clone Woolsey Newman, 93, passed away Friday, July 4, 2014.

She was born May 9, 1921 in Escalante, Utah to David and Eliza Deurl Woolsey. On November 17, 1943.

Clone married Horace Grimes in Phenix City, Alabama; they were later divorced. She married Clive J. Newman on August 28, 1952 in Evanston, Wyoming. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He preceded her in death in September of 2007.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served as a visiting teacher. Clone served a Stake Mission with Clive in the Washington Terrace 2nd Ward.

Traveling with her family was her greatest pleasure and tending her cherished grandchilden; her family was first and foremost. She enjoyed crafts, knitting and crocheting.

Clone is survived by four daughters, Carolyn (Lou) Hillier, Geneva, ID; Debra (Tony) Atkinson, Ogden; Joyce (Wayne) Boren, San Diego, CA; Pamela Petrilla, Ogden; nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and twelve siblings.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 10th at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. The family will meet with friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
