Cloyd Dave Thomas 1974-2011

Our beloved father, son, brother and friend returned home to his Heavenly Father on April 22, 2011. Cloyd was born July 26, 1974 in Ogden, Utah to William and Tennice Thomas. He grew up in Layton and graduated from Davis High in 1992. He married Jennifer Ottley in Duchesne, Utah on January 12, 1995. They were later divorced.

Cloyd started at an early age of 18 installing carpet in St. George and later became the owner of "Cloyd''s Floor Store" in Price. His innate talent as an installer allowed him to achieve the respect and overwhelming compliments of his hard work. He was a perfectionist in all that he did. His other passion was motorcycles. He loved to ride with his son and friends. He was a self-taught drummer and played in a band and passed that passion on to his son Cole. He loved the outdoors, camping, and fishing with his family.

Cloyd lived a long life in a short number of years. He will be remembered best for his honesty and hard work. He was very outgoing and had a smile for everyone and will be greatly missed by all that knew him. Cloyd was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Cloyd leaves behind his children: Sharise (Joe) Castagna, Brooke (Harley) Thomas and Cole Thomas; his parents, William and Tennice Thomas, Layton; his siblings: Robert (Eileen) Thomas, Eden; Steven (Carolyn) Thomas, Roy; Jason (Cynthia) Thomas, Roy; Kerry Thomas, Montana; Jennifer (Dave) Marsh, No. Ogden; Danene (Donald) Philips, Perry; many extended family and a special friend, Christy Jaramillo of East Carbon.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Thomas, grandparents Austin and Helen Thomas, James Jamieson and Blaine and Laura Green.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 2 p.m. at the Kaysville City Cemetery, 500 E. Crestwood Road. Following services there will be a gathering from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at the Flint Meadows Ward, 615 N. Flint, Layton, for those wishing to express their condolences.
