Clyde E. Stewart
OGDEN – Clyde Eugene Stewart, 71, died Sunday, January 3, 2010 at McKay-Dee Hospital.
He was born January 26, 1938 in Waverly, Tennessee, a son of James Horton and Lillian Frances Story Stewart.
In January of 1958, Clyde married Emma Yayoi Okamoto in Denver, Colorado. Emma preceded him in death on July 25, 2004.
He retired from the U.S. Air Force following 20 years of service. He served in the Vietnam War and was the recipient of the Air Force Commendation Medal, Explosive Ordnance Disposal Master Badge, and the Missileman Badge.
Clyde was a Life Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, U.S. Air Force Sergeants Associations and the Master Blaster Association. He was also an Eagle Scout.
Surviving are one son and one daughter, L. James Stewart and Bobbi Hatfield, and seven grandchildren.
Also surviving are two brothers, William R. Stewart and Jackie Stewart, and one sister, Rebecca Hernandez.
Preceding Clyde in death were his wife, parents, and one son, Walter R. Stewart.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd., where Military Honors will be accorded by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard.
