Clyde Ezra Williams
Clyde Era Williams passed away Saturday, April 5, 2014 in Bountiful, Utah.
He was born January 22, 1920 in Farnum, Idaho, the son of John Ezra and Harriet Rhoda Miller Williams. He attended Weber High School in Ogden, Utah and was a member of the school band. He won State Championship as a drummer his senior year, 1938. He majored in music at Weber College. He married Jeri Hadley of Ogden, Utah on June 2, 1950, in the Salt Lake Temple.
Clyde joined the National Guard and was a sergeant in the National Guard band. Later he applied for training and was accepted as a cadet in the Air Force. After ten months of flight training Clyde graduated as a 2 nd lieutant in the US Air Force. He served in North Africa and China with 665 hours of combat flying time, earning and awarding him the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal.
He built many homes in Bountiful, Utah beginning in 1950 as owner of Clyde E. Williams Company. In the 1960’s he became a real estate appraiser owning and operating Williams Appraisal Company. Clyde was garnered the highest designation through the Appraisal Institute, a national organization holding the MAI, SREA, SRPA and SRA designation.
Clyde was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with a strong testimony of the gospel and served in many callings. He was called to organize and serve as the first Branch President of the Meadows Branch in Bountiful. He served for many years in the Ogden Temple.
He is survived by his wife, Jeri; daughter Deborah Lynn Williams Nordgran Coburn; grandchildren Andrea Nordgran Duffy (Tim), Angela Nordgran Caldwell (Wade), Jason Williams Nordgran (Cindy); great-grandchildren Jaron Yancey, Alec Duffy, Brittany Duffy, Meghan Duffy, Clara Caldwell, Adam Caldwell, Cohen Caldwell, Jude Caldwell, Gavin Nordgran, Evelyn Nordgran, and Benet Nordgran. Preceded in death by his, son Jon Timothy in 1979, and great-granddaughter Clara Caldwell in 2005.
Clyde has been a teacher and mentor to his family through the honorable example and life which he has lived. He made the best apple pie of all time! He is the smartest, kindest, most talented, humble, charitable and handsome man. We love you with all our hearts.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Friday, April 11, 2014 at the Bountiful 37 th Ward 1540 N. 400 E. Friends may visit family Thurs. from 6-8 pm at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. and Fri. from 9:45- 10:45 am at the church prior to services. Interment Bountiful City Cemetery.
