Colleen Tobias Leavitt

November 7, 1939 — March 7, 2025

With love and remembrance, we announce the passing of Colleen Tobias Leavitt on March 7, 2025, in Layton, Utah, at the age of 85. Born on November 7, 1939, in Ogden, Utah, Colleen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched everyone who knew her.

Colleen was the daughter of Arthur and Marjorie Tobias and grew up surrounded by her loving siblings Bert, Janice, Glenda, Bryan, and Debbie. She carried a deep love for family throughout her life and cherished the time spent with her loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald Leavitt, with whom she built a life filled with love and laughter. Together, they raised three wonderful children: Laurie (Bob), Tamara (Brad), and Ronnie (Marnie), who were the light of her life. She was also a devoted grandmother to Kacie, Tara, Kylie, Morgan, Jared, BJ, and Marcie, and she adored her four great-grandchildren, Connor, Ronan, River, and Harper.

Colleen had a great sense of humor and loved to be silly and funny. Her grandchildren affectionately gave her the nickname "Queen G", a title she embraced with great pride and joy. She loved painting, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends, always bringing laughter and warmth to every gathering. She always had her constant dog companion, Molly, by her side.

A celebration of life will be held in San Jose, California where she spent most of her life (1965-2016) raising her family with her husband Ron. The celebration of life will be held at a later date with her children and grandchildren, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.

Her love of life will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. She will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched.

Arrangements entrusted to Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah.
