Colleen Crawford Taylor

KAYSVILLE – Colleen Crawford Taylor, 60, passed away Monday, April 14, 2014 peacefully in her sleep.

She was born July 20, 1953 in Rock Springs, Wyoming the daughter of Hans LeRoy and Helen Wolthius Crawford.

Colleen grew up in Rock Springs, Wyoming and attended BYU to study nursing. Colleen married Dr. John B. Taylor on June 6, 1976 in Farmington, Utah. They settled in Kaysville in 1978 where she and John opened a medical practice serving Kaysville until 2008 when they retired.

She was an active member in the LDS Church working in the Bishops' Storehouse and as an ordinance worker at the Bountiful Temple.

She loved being a nurse and chatting with each person who came in. She looked forward to her morning coca-cola, classic rock music and her time with the Athena Club. Colleen loved her Dutch heritage, doing genealogy and passed down her Dutch traditions to her children.  She loved gardening and learned so much from her mother, that she then shared with her children.

Colleen loved to read and learn.  She would read Time Magazine cover to cover each week. She enjoyed watching the History Channel, reading classic English novels, history books, and even read novels in French.  She could beat everyone in Trivial Pursuit and she was our own personal Google.

Colleen is survived by Dr. John B. Taylor, daughter, Carrie H. (Kresta) Taylor, Salt Lake City; sons, John B. (Sara) Taylor Jr., Layton; Dr. Bart D. (Mandy) Taylor, Las Vegas, NV; two grandchildren, Kirsten and Blake, that she loved so much.

Also surviving are her siblings, William (Arvella) Crawford, Barbara Crawford, Dena Davis and Carole Hyde.

Preceded in death by her parents and her best friend Catherine Ford.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the Crestwood Stake Center, 855 Mutton Hollow Road, Kaysville.  Friends may visit family Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main and Saturday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the church.  Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
