Colleen Ann Schneiter Woodland Randall

January 5, 1935 ~ November 30, 2018

Colleen Ann Schneiter Woodland Randall, 83, passed away on Friday, November 30, 2018, surrounded by her family. She was born on January 5, 1935, the daughter of Ernest, Sr. and Mildred June Taylor Schneiter in Ogden. Colleen grew up there, graduating from Weber High School in 1953. She lived for a short time in California where she began raising her family before moving back to Ogden in 1961 at the age of 26.

A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Colleen loved serving in the Primary. She married Val Isaac Woodland on June 12, 1953 in the Salt Lake City Temple. They later divorced and she married Dean George Randall on June 28, 1985 in North Ogden, Utah. Dean and Colleen celebrated 33 wonderful years of marriage in June.

Colleen worked for over two decades at Ogden Clinic as a receptionist for Dr. Imus and enjoyed her many friendships there. A proud member of the Schneiter family, Colleen bought The Barn Golf Course in North Ogden with Dean on July 1, 1987. Her lineage includes 2 PGA golf professionals and two Golf Course Superintendents, one of whom is currently serving as President of the IGCSA. She is married to the third Superintendent in her family, Dean having been a member of the GCSAA now for 29 years. Colleen was very proud of all these facts. Golf was in her blood. Colleen is a past Ogden City Womens’ Amateur Champion and had won numerous club championships. She and Dean competed together for years in couples’ tournaments throughout the intermountain west. As co-owner of The Barn she was also currently a proud member of the Utah Golf Association.

Colleen also enjoyed crafts and traveling, but most of all she loved her family. She was noted for her cooking abilities and could always be found behind the counter at Schneiter Riverside Golf Course and eventually The Barn Golf Course.

She is survived by her husband, Dean Randall, Ogden; sons, Kelly (RaNae) Woodland of North Ogden, Cary (Xiao Yu) Woodland of Ogden, and Shon (Suzi) Woodland of North Ogden; daughter, Dawn (Roy) Barker of St. George; stepchildren, Kirk (Tina) Randall of Layton and Dana Ricketts of Layton; a special grandson she raised from the age of 6, Justin (Dana) Woodland of North Ogden; 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; brothers, Ernest “Ernie, Jr.” (Arnell) Schneiter of Ogden; and sister, Carolyn (Neil) Thornton of Ogden. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Ian Woodland; and brother, Gene Schneiter, who just passed several days ago.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 2 p.m. at the Shadow Ridge Ward, 1401 Country Hills Drive, Ogden. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. and Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the church. Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery.
