Conner Cruise Carlini, loving son and brother, passed away at the age of 24, on Friday, July 20, 2018 at 8:55pm at Queens Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, of sudden cardiac arrest. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Conner was born October 27, 1993 at Jordan Valley Hospital in West Jordan, Utah.
He attended East Layton Elementary, Central Davis Jr. High, Layton High and Northridge High. He attended Dixie University and BYU-Hawaii where he was majoring in Psychology.
He enjoyed working at Cutler’s Sandwich shop in Layton, UT and Kualoa Ranch on Oahu, HI.
He was engaged to Seoyeon Kim (Lilia) from South Korea. They met at their Singles ward while attending BYU-Hawaii. They were to be married on November 10th, 2018 in the Laie (Lah-EE-AYE) Hawaii LDS temple.
Conner was such a happy, go-lucky, fun-loving kid. He made everyone laugh. For example after pulling out a tooth, he did a little dance while saying “Buddy Luckins”! He made you feel good. He loved game nights, X-Box, helping others, making people feel loved, and maximizing his potential. He had dreams of becoming a motivational speaker on YouTube and was keeping a video log and journal of his ideas. He also wanted to be a life coach.
When Conner was younger he loved being the soccer goalie, playing Jr. Jazz basketball, performing magic tricks, getting his first dog Cosmo, boating, wakeboarding, Nintendo, Pokemon & Yugio cards, karate, and tennis. He was an Eagle Scout. His favorite vacation spot was on our houseboat in Lake Powell.
He served a 2-year mission in Tokyo, Japan, serving with President Wada. He loved Japan and serving under President and Sister Wada. Sister Wada took care of Conner who had motion sickness from all of the traveling when he arrived on his mission. He was a very picky eater due to a gag reflex no one knew he had. Sister Wada catered to his sensitive stomach, which left an incredible impression on him.
As he got older, he loved wrestling, tennis, working out at the gym, and listening to motivational speakers such as Tony Robbins, Joe Dispenza, and Jordan Peterson.
Since he was a toddler he has always had a great sense of humor and a desire to make everyone laugh and smile. In recent years Conner developed a passion for motivating himself and others around him to reach their full potential. Wise beyond his years, he lived life to its fullest; balancing family, friends, spirituality and adventure.
He is survived by his parents Aaron Angelo Carlini and Rachele Hanson, his sister (Cristel Rachele Carlini Shaw) and brother-in-law (Parker Todd Shaw), and two grandfathers Angelo Leo Carlini and Jerrold Alvin Hanson, and one great-grandpa, Evan Joyce Yearsley.
He was preceded in death by his grandmothers; Deanna Millen Carlini and Ersula Yearsley Hanson, his aunt Julia Marguerite Carlini Risdal.
