Connie Deanne Fedderson, 68, suddenly and unexpectedly passed from this life on September 20, 2024. Connie was born on November 20, 1955, in Roosevelt, Utah to Darrell Dee and Caroldene Savage Atkinson. In her childhood, Connie lived in many places that included; Roosevelt, Ogden, San Bernardino, Hyrum, and Clearfield. The Family finally settled in Layton in 1964. Connie graduated from Layton High School in 1974. After high school, she worked a variety of jobs before going to work for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a cashier in the employee’s cafeteria. It was there she met her eternal sweetheart, Everett Kay Fedderson. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on August 3, 1978 and just recently celebrated their 46th anniversary.
Connie and Kay had six children; three boys and three girls. Two daughters were born with heart defects and did not survive past infancy. They also had a son who died unexpectedly at the age of 30. After all her children were in school, Connie went to work at Vae View Elementary as a tutor and teacher’s aide. She retired from Vae View in 2018 and was able to travel with Kay as he visited many
temples as part of his work. The traveling continued when Kay retired the next year and they got to visit many countries, several National Parks and tried to visit every temple in the state of Utah.
Connie loved going camping and taking trips with her family. They were always planning the next adventure to go on. There were a lot of backyard barbecues and other family get-togethers. She loved her early morning walks with Kay, and enjoyed biking and hiking, which they did quite regularly. She loved the beautiful things of this Earth and was proud to have witnessed two total eclipses and the northern lights.
Connie absolutely loved her grandchildren and would spend as much time with them as possible. She loved collecting things from the various places she visited that included pins, spoons, thimbles, t-shirts, hummingbird trinkets, rocks and other items. She also gained a passion for Pokemon Go, which she became very good at.
Connie was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in various callings in the Primary, Young Women’s, and Relief Society. She also served in Stake Primary and Stake Relief Society Presidencies. She was serving as a Ward Missionary at the time of her passing.
Connie is survived by her husband, Kay, her children Kristopher (Tricia) Fedderson, Cameron Fedderson, Kayla (Logan) Brown, daughter-in-law, Kristina Bassett, her sister, Deborah (Vincent) Coon, her brother Michael Atkinson, and sister-in-law, Janna Atkinson. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, Madilyn, Hunter, Brayden, Alana, Evylise, Brenlyn, Jakten and Treven.
