Connie Jean Hyde

Connie Jean Hyde, 72, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away unexpectedly on February 8, 2018 after a brief illness.

Born to William Vaughn Hyde and Myrna Lottie Sanders on July 7, 1945, Connie grew up in Arco, Idaho, and after spending many years in the Salt Lake Valley, returned to her roots where she enjoyed the wonders of nature. A thinker, a dreamer, a kitchen table philosopher, Connie had imagination to spare and accomplished a lifelong goal of writing a novel. She valued her family and friends above all else in life, and possessing an indomitable spirit, she was a source of continual support for all. When asked the quality most admired in Connie, the word “kind” was at the top of everyone’s list. She found something good in everyone she met and always offered small acts of kindness and encouraging words to all who were in need. Not one to discriminate, she also provided love and shelter to many animals that found their way to her. In essence, Connie was a beautiful, fun and creative free spirit who will be missed beyond measure.

Connie is survived by her children Shauna (Scott) Heise, Kristin (Wendy) Vance, Allen and Shayne Vance; cherished grandchildren Christian, Jordan, Allen Jr. (Haley), Jessica and Jacob; brothers Terry (Pam) Hyde and Clinton (Galina) Hyde as well as many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Myrna Lou Hathaway and her infant daughter, Shirlina.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.  Friends may visit friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary.  Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
