LAYTON a€" Connie Joyce Harris Layton, 78, passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at Rocky Mtn. Care Center.

She was born August 20, 1930 in Ogden the daughter of Jesse and Chloe Louise Layton Harris.

She was a life-long resident of Layton, attending Layton Elementary, North Davis Jr. High School and graduated from Davis High School in 1948. She also attended Utah State University in Logan.

Connie married Donald Austin Layton on June 21, 1952 in Layton. He preceded her in death on April 27, 1988.

Connie retired from Hill Air Force Base as a Distribution Technician.

She was an animal lover, enjoyed feeding and caring for numerous stray cats that wandered in. In her younger years she enjoyed planting, caring for her garden and sharing the produce with everyone.

Surviving are her son Ryan D. Layton, Layton; daughter, Jone (Tyrone) Aranda, Layton; grandson, Kevin Aranda and sister, Gloria Hess Rice, Farmington.

Preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Ruth Adams, Annabelle Wall, Bonnie Jackson, Dorothy Adams and brother, Bryan Harris.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October20, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
