Connie Maughan

Our loving mom, grandma, aunt and friend was reunited with her eternal companion and infant son Douglas on February 8, 2023 at the age of 91.

Connie was born on June 20, 1931 in Preston, Idaho to Leo N. and Helen Merrill Beckstead. She spent her early childhood in Preston growing up on her parent’s farm with her sister Donna and brother Quinn. She moved to Ogden with her family when she was 10 years old. She graduated from Ogden High School and later attended Utah State University.

She married Carl Clawson Maughan on May 19, 1961 in the Logan LDS Temple. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in numerous callings.

She worked for the Navy Depot, Mcbee Systems and New York Life retiring in 1989.

Connie had incredible patience and always made time to help others. Her legacy will carry on forever reminding us that we control our own attitudes. We choose to live a life of meaningful acts of love and service, like Christ modeled for us.

Surviving is her daughter, Dixie Burrell; stepdaughter, Marilyn Elphick; grandchildren, Stephanie, Brian, Jason, Brook and Sarah; eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her niece and four nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, son, parents, sister, and brother.

Our family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Avamere at Mountain Ridge and their staff for the love and care they showed her. Also, thank you to Inspiration Hospice for their kindness these last few weeks.

We love you grandma, and we know “No more than I love you.”

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 20, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
