Connie Webster Petterborg

Connie Webster Petterborg, 90, finally got her wish passing away on Thursday, June 19, 2014.  She was born February 26, 1924 in Glendale, Idaho to Asa Lot and Rachel Porter Webster.  She graduated from Preston High School and attended LDS Business College in Salt Lake City.  She married Donald F. Petterborg on May 13, 1946 in the Logan LDS Temple.  They were married 53 years before he passed away in 1999.  After they married they resided in Clearfield, Utah for 55 years and raised four daughters Diane, Jean, Beth and JoAnn.  She and Don served and LDS service mission at the Ogden Tabernacle for four years.

She was an active member of the Clearfield Third Ward for many years where she served in many capacities.

She retired from Clearfield City.  She and Don took great pride in their yard and she enjoyed working alongside him.  Later in life they would take regular walks together.  She loved family gatherings and seeing her posterity grow and was very proud of her family.  She had a great memory and always remembered all of their birthdays with a card or a phone call.  She had a great sense of humor and was known for her quick and witty remarks.  She was kind and gracious and always remembered to thank those who helped her.  She had a way of making everyone she met feel loved and important.  Even in her last days she taught us to endure to the end with grace.

Connie is survived by her daughters Diane (Reed) Barlow, Fruit Heights; Jean (Larry) Thurgood, Serving as Mission President in Buenos Aires South Argentina, Beth (Ron) Mitchell, Kaysville; JoAnn (Rick) Dahl, San Diego, CA.  She has 18 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren all who love and adore her, one brother Carl (Lois) Webster and one sister Vonda Webster, Bountiful.

Preceded in death by her husband Don, grandson Steve Barlow, and twin great-grandchildren Brock and Mia Barlow, parents, four brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 27, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.  Friends may visit family Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary.  Interment, Clearfield City Cemetery.
