– Cora Patterson passed away Sunday, June 27, 2010 following a long illness.
She was born November 21, 1933 to Francis and M. Joy Beasley. She was raised in Hooper and graduated from Weber High School.
Cora married her childhood sweetheart, Duane R. Patterson from West Point, on her birthday, November 21, 1952 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They lived and raised their three sons in West Point.
Cora was very proud of her sons and volunteered at the schools her sons attended and also served as PTA President. She loved square dancing with their very good friends, and loved to travel with her family across the United States. Cora and Duane were also able to enjoy many cruises before she became ill.
After her sons were married, they moved to South Ogden and bought a condominium. They also bought a condo in Mesa, Arizona to enjoy the winters. They had many wonderful friends in West Point and Arizona. She loved to do ceramics, which her sons and grandchildren enjoyed very much. They recently returned to South Ogden permanently so she could be close to her family.
Cora was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she served in many callings.
One of her biggest joys came from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She and Duane bought many kids meals and parted with many one-dollar bills for them over the years, which they enjoyed very much.
She is survived by her husband Duane, three sons, Douglas (Connie), Layton; Stanton (Pam), Clearfield; Dennis (Celeste), Corinne; her grandchildren, Cale, Mindee, Nikki, Katie, Derek, Dayne, Dawson, Seth and Carly. Her great-grandchildren are Dylan, Taylee, Hunter, Ashlyn, Ryker, Jackson, Dresden and Maddex.
Cora is also survived by two sisters and many extended relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
The family would like to thank CNS Hospice and nursing staff for their loving care.
