Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend, Craig Francis Iverson passed away on July 11, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 12, 1948 to Darrell J. and Cleo Donoviel Iverson. He attended Ogden City Schools and Weber State College. He joined the Army in 1964 at age 16, where upon qualifying for OCS, his age was discovered and he was honorably discharged and sent home. He married the love of his life and best friend; Patricia Olivas, on April 10, 1973 in Uintah, UT. Craig loved the outdoors – working at Sun Valley, ID; Heavenly Valley, CA; and Snow Basin, UT. An avid duck hunter, he was a volunteer and chairman of Ducks Unlimited for many years. Craig’s love for boating was passed on to him by his dad, which he enjoyed all of his life and he kept his boat on B Dock at Bear Lake where he had many friends.
He worked at numerous jobs throughout his life, some of his favorites being a Gandy Dancer for the Union Pacific Railroad, driving bus for UTA, working with his dad in commercial real estate, and working as a computer systems and data base analyst for Dynamic Research Corporation at Hill AFB. Craig retired in 2007 due to failing health.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Pattie; his favorite daughter, Angel (Jack) Johansen; granddaughter, Shaylee Johansen; grandson, Seth Johansen and great-granddaughter, Jayden Ivy Gayle; three brothers and one sister, Kent (Linda) Iverson, Salt Lake City; Gary (Sue) Iverson, Carol Ann Iverson, and Val (Joan) Iverson all of Ogden.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and two sisters, Jean Ann and JoAnn Iverson.
The family would like to thank Dr. John Hemmersmeier for his exceptional care and understanding, the staff at Access Hospice, especially Chelsee, DeAnn, Valerie, and Bart for their kindness and support.
At Craig’s request, no funeral services will be held. A wake will be held in his honor at a later date for his special friends and family. Cremation entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
