Craig Ross Wilding, surrounded by family, peacefully passed away at 10:20 p.m. on Sunday August 19, 2018.

He was born June 2, 1946 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Thomas Edward Wilding and Naomi Archibald Ipson. He graduated from West High School in 1964.

On September 29, 1967, Craig married Susan McCleery in Salt Lake City, UT. They eventually moved to Denver, Colorado where they raised three children.

Craig honorably served his country during the Vietnam War from July 1964 to July 1967. During his time in the U.S. Army, Craig was a logistics transportation specialist who served in Germany, Okinawa and Vietnam.

He also worked diligently as a Superintendent for a wholesale fencing company in Colorado. A Denver Broncos and Utah Utes fan, Craig shared his passion for sports with his children and grandchildren. He was also an exemplary citizen who was always well-informed on current events and political happenings. He enjoyed days of shooting, fishing and hunting.

Craig is remembered for being generous and selfless in all that he did. He always thought of the needs of others before himself, following the motto “service before self”. Craig was a strong man of integrity who lifted everyone who knew him. He is remembered for especially enjoying the joys of the Christmas season. Craig was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held a deep belief in his Heavenly Father.

Craig is survived by his wife, Susan, and three children, Shelley, Michael (Angela), and Stacey, as well as six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The family will meet with friends at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 W 5600 S on Friday, August 24 from 6-8 pm and Saturday at the Hansen Meadows Ward Chapel, 2500 S. Bluff Rd. Syracuse on Saturday, August 25 from 9:30 -10:30 am with the funeral to follow at 11 am.
