Crystal Dezember

Crystal Angela Roybal Dezember passed away on March 1st, 2021 at home surrounded by her family after fighting a long valiant battle with ovarian cancer.

Crystal was born in Ogden, Utah on August 21, 1980 to Ron and Beverly Udy Roybal.

She graduated from Fremont high school in 1998 and continued her education at Weber State University where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education in 2009. Crystal never stopped learning and always continued courses and classes to further her education.

Crystal grew up in Harrisville, Utah. On August 23, 1999 she married her high school sweetheart Brody. They lived in multiple places but eventually settled in Layton, Utah. In 2004 they had their son Connor.

Crystal truly found her calling as a teacher and loved her students. She taught at a few different schools and made many connections along the way but she truly had a passion for teaching.

Crystal is survived by her husband Brody and son Connor, her parents Ron and Beverly Roybal (Harrisville, UT), Debbie and Dave Schlack (Santa Rosa, CA), Tim and Vedean Dezember (Custer, SD), brother Ryan Roybal, Salt Lake City, sister Alisa Roybal (Chad Hughes), South Weber. Crystal was preceded in death by many loved ones, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and others.

We will be celebrating Crystal’s life on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.  Friends may visit family Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the mortuary.  Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.

Brody has started a Scholarship fund in Crystal’s name. Her passion was education and we want to honor her name in helping the next generation of Educators.
