Cyndee Lou Landes

September 18, 1951 — February 10, 2024

Early in the morning of September 18, 1951, the most beautiful girl in town was born in Lubbock, Texas. Cyndee spent her school years in Texas.

In her second year at Texas Tech University, she met and married her first husband, Terry Wood in 1970. They had two children, Kristen Wood (Bub) Espinosa and Damien Wood (Andrew). Terry’s work brought them to Utah where they settled in Salt Lake City. The couple later divorced.

In 1984, Cyndee was living in Ogden, Utah, where she met her husband-to-be, Curt Landes. After dating for five years, Cyndee and Curt were married on January 18, 1989, in beautiful Kauai, Hawaii. Cyndee and Curt celebrated their 35th Anniversary this past month.

Curt had two children from a previous marriage to Gay Green, Roger Landes and Forrest Landes. After the marriage the two families became one and they moved to a new home in the mountains east of Weber State University in Ogden.

Cyndee passed away at home, her favorite place to be in the world, late on February 10, 2024, from complications of a stroke she suffered four months earlier.

She was passionate about hiking, biking, running, hot yoga, and more recently water aerobics where she made many wonderful new friends.

Cyndee’s favorite season was summer. The highlight of her summers was when she and Curt went to concerts outdoors, overlooking the marina on San Diego’s Shelter Island. It was there where they attended as many as three concerts every summer for over 20 years. One of the highlights from their first concert, the performance of James Brown. Curt always had front row seats for them for what was an annual seaside getaway.

Cyndee is survived by her husband, Curt; her two children and two stepchildren; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild with one more on the way; and siblings, Millie Weary and Eddie Putty. Preceded in death by her parents.

Cyndee requested no services. A Celebration of Life may be held at a later date during her favorite season, summer.

The family would like to give special thanks to the wonderful staff at Aspen Ridge Hospice Care.
