D. Duane Brown
OGDEN – Dorris Duane Brown, 89, died Tuesday, October 27, 2009.
He was born to Charles Alexander and Pearl Butler Brown, the 10th of their ten children, on October 7, 1920 in Trenton, Utah.
Duane served with the U.S Air Force for three years in the South Pacific where he worked in an ordinance group repairing vehicles and managing ammunition stocks.
On September 10, 1947, he married Barbara Haws. Their marriage was later solemnized in the LDS Temple. Barbara preceded him in death on April 15, 1998.
Duane loved baseball and boating. He taught many nieces and nephews how to water ski. Duane and Barbara traveled the world to a total of 39 countries.
He worked as the General Mills Maintenance Superintendent on 29th Street for 34 years.
Duane was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara, brothers, Theron, Lael, Verrall, Narland and Valden Brown; and sisters, Idalia Huff, Opal Cahoon Wood, Vadis Hillyard and Thora Littledike.
Graveside services will be held Friday, October 30 at 11 a.m. at the Logan City Cemetery, 1200 East 1000 North.
Heartfelt gratitude is expressed to a niece, Jacklyn Littledike, of Lewiston, Utah, who traveled with Duane and Barbara and phoned Duane most every night for several years.
