Dahrl Richards Allen

A 72 year love affair that started on their first date at the Egyptian Theatre ended where it started, at the Egyptian Theatre for our always loving, always interesting and truly cherished mother, Dahrl Richards Allen and her forever sweetheart, Dr. Merle E. Allen. She wasn''t ready to go because life for her was just too much fun, but the English teacher in her would have relished the literary improbability of their story.

Mom was truly blessed to live a fully functioning, high impact life right up to their last date and then passed away peacefully with many of her family at her side. Besides her endearing love for our dad and their life travels, she thoroughly loved being a teacher at Bonneville High School, and the associations with all of her great friends in the many clubs she loved including, Aglaia, Child Culture, Cosmopolitan, Newcomers, Gourmet, Bridge and DUP. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she had taught Gospel Doctrine, and had served as a visiting teacher and an organist.

She enjoyed creative writing and painting, especially water colors. Mom loved her intimate involvement with the successes and adventures of her six children and their spouses, Rick (Karla), Huntsville; Ed (Patricia), Ogden; Bernie (Susan), Ogden; Rock (Tracy), Ogden; Lyn (Larry), Grand Junction, CO; and Jennifer (Jeff), South Ogden; her 29 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Bernie and Lula Richards, brother Winn Richards and her infant daughter, Claudette and survived by her brother, Maurice Richards and sister in law Joyce Richards
