Dale Jessop Barton
Dale Jessop Barton, 85, passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 8, 2012. He was born in Ogden on June 24, 1927 to Clyde M. and Edith J. Barton.
He attended school in Ogden, graduating from Ogden High School. Dale joined the Navy at 17, serving in the South Pacific as a Sea Bee during World War II. He graduated from Weber State College and earned a BS from the University of Utah in Pharmacy.
Dale married Wanda Barlow on October 17, 1953 in Elko, Nevada. They were happily married for nearly 59 years. They raised their family in Sunset and later moved to South Ogden. Dale worked as a pharmacist at various stores. He opened his own drug store in 1953, owned the pharmacy at Big V Drug in Sunset, worked for Hamilton Drug and retired from Smith''s Pharmacy in Roy.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Dale enjoyed fishing of all kinds. He and Wanda enjoyed long extended vacations with family and friends to Hawaii and Palm Desert, CA.
He loved to read and play golf. He and his family enjoyed many trips to their cabin. Dale''s favorite hobby was fixing or building things.
Dale is survived by his wife, children, Chris (Christine) Peterson, Kenneth (Gayla) Barton and Susan Barton; 4 grandchildren, Dale, Elizabeth, Brett and Krista; 4 great-grandchildren, Kayliegh, Davin, Jerry, and Julia and brother-in-law, Haven J. Barlow.
He was preceded in death by his parents, many aunts and uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
