Dale E. Bowers

Dale passed away August 25, 2011. He was born May 16, 1947 to Leland H. and Lorraine Bowers in Ogden, Utah at the old Dee Hospital. He had a happy childhood; he and his family loved to play baseball. He lived in Layton, Utah his whole life. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He graduated from Davis High School in 1966. He fought bravely in the Vietnam War, serving two tours of duty in the United States Army.

Dale married Sherl Ann Mauchley on September 27, 1974 and they were sealed as a family on September 27, 1980 in the Ogden LDS Temple. He was a hard worker, supporting his family well. He enjoyed his yard and garden, his family, and especially his grandkids. He loved camping, fishing and outdoors, just sitting and observing nature. He loved collecting antiques and baseball cards.

Dale had many friends and family and will be missed by everyone. He is preceded in death by his father Leland H. Bowers, his grandparents and his son Christopher Dale Bowers.

He is survived by his wife Sherl, daughter Rachelle Bowers, daughter Melissa (Alan) Jensen, son Curtis (Melissa) Bowers, and his beloved grandkids, his mother, brothers and sisters and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton.
