Dale Franklin Christopherson, 78, passed away Monday, June 17, 2013 in Ogden, Utah after a valiantly fought battle with Myelofibrosis progressing into Acute Myeloid Leukemia. He was born August 15, 1934 in Salt Lake City to George and Sylvia Regina Pope Pierpont Christopherson. He graduated from Ogden High and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War. Dale married his sweetheart Ann Widdison, on April 26, 1961 in the Logan LDS Temple and they were blessed with a wonderful posterity of six children, 21 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. They recently celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary. He served faithfully in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and loved to serve the Lord. He served as a Scout Master, Stake Missionary, Executive Secretary, Bishop''s Counselor, Stake High Counselor and Membership Clerk. He attended Weber State University and graduated with a Bachelor''s degree and Master''s degree from Utah State University. He worked at many jobs including summer survey and fire fighting for the Forest Service, grocery and milk delivery, mosquito abatement, and a delivery driver for Dallas Green. His chosen profession was teaching with Weber County School District for 35 years. Dale taught at Wahlquist Jr. High, then North Ogden Jr. High until he retired. His favorite teaching experiences revolved around summer science programs and science fairs. He influenced thousands of students with the love of Science. Dale had a compassionate heart and a unique sense of humor. He found his greatest joy in his family and his grandchildren''s interests in music and rock hounding. His extensive travels always centered around visiting his loved ones, having traveled from coast to coast. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Carol Christopherson, Bernele Hale, two brother-in-laws, Clinton Hale, Don Braegger, and a grandson, Ian Layton. Dale is survived by his wife Ann; his children, Dalene (Brien) Berg, Palm Desert CA; Regina (Evan) Layton, Thornton, CO; Michael (Stephanie) Christopherson, Clinton, UT; Camille (Brian) Mullen, Middleton, Nova Scotia; Marcene (Craig) Case, Hyde Park, UT; and David (Megan) Christopherson, Clinton, UT; one sister, Jean Braegger, one brother, Lynn (Janis) Christopherson, Ogden, UT; his mother-in-law, Lorell Widdison, 20 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday June 24th at 11 a.m. at the Shannondoah Ward Chapel, 5000 South 5900 West, Hooper. The family will meet with friends on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Hooper Cemetery.
