Dale L. Dean
OGDEN – Dale Lamar Dean, 83, died Saturday, May 30, 2009 in Ogden.
He was born July 4, 1925 in Ogden, a son of Adrion and Leatha Smith Dean. He was the oldest of 10 children – three girls and seven boys.
Dale was drafted in November of 1943, and served in the United States Marine Corps until 1946.
He married Colleen Terry on February 10, 1947.
Dale’s career spanned 38 years at Commercial Security Bank.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various callings. He also served many years in the Scouting program.
Dale was active in the Ogden Lions Club for over thirteen years and enjoyed serving the community.
He loved spending time with his family. He also enjoyed golfing, snow and water skiing, bowling, racquetball, tennis and creative woodcraft.
Surviving are his wife, Colleen; two sons, Michael R. (Susan) Dean; Roger (Wendy) Dean; one daughter, Carolyn Goaslind, 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are four brothers and two sisters.
Dale was preceded in death by his son, Steven L. Dean, and three siblings.
Graveside services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
