Dale J. Draper, 72 of Kennewick, WA and longtime resident of Farmington, UT passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, May 23rd, 2014. Dale was born in Payson, UT March 8th, 1942. He was son of Morris J. and NaVieve Draper.
Dale was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He held many callings in the church one of which was serving a mission with his wife Jane in the Family History Center in Salt Lake City, UT.
On December 31st, 1999 he retired after 35 years of work with the Federal Aviation Administration. His career provided him the opportunity to live in many communities throughout the United States. While living in these communities he used his construction skills to build several homes for his family.
Once retired, Dale was able to pursue his true passion of restoring classic Chevys. He attended car shows throughout the Salt Lake Valley in which he won many awards for the quality of his restorations. When he wasn’t working on a Chevy he enjoyed family reunions, vacationing at Flaming Gorge and Lake Powell along with touring the United States with Jane in their RV.
Nothing brought him more joy than his family. He was a devoted, son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jane Lynn Draper, daughter Tiffany Madsen (Jim), son Wade J Draper (Janice), daughter Jill Draper Harmston (Shawn), son Nick D. Draper (Brigitte) and 12 grandchildren and 1 ½ great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 30th at 11:00 am at the Farmington City Cemetery. Funeral arrangements provided by Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
