Dale Evan Edwards
August 21, 1960 ~ August 31, 2017
Dale Evan Edwards, 57, passed away on August 31, 2017 from a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on August 21, 1960 to Richard P Edwards and Virginia M Rhoades in Ogden, Utah. He was diagnosed with polio at the age of 6 weeks and even though we were told he would never walk after 21 surgeries and with the aid of braces he did, that is how independent and determined he was.
Dale and his family moved to Idaho Falls when he was just a baby but he spent many months and sometimes a year at the Shriners Hospital in Salt Lake City, but in spite of his hardships he was always happy. He couldn’t ride a bike but he was the coolest little boy on the block in his electric Batmobile and now he not only can ride a bike but for the first time he can run.
Dale moved to Roy UT. After his parents were divorced and his mother remarried Cecil Rhoades who was a wonderful second dad who Dale called Pa.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Hal Edwards, a sister Dawn Ortez, a stepbrother Melvin Rhoades, and a stepsister Kelly Larsen.
Dale is survived by his soul mate Debbie Skeen, son Kory Edwards, two sisters Geri (Kim) Keele and Natasha Lund, two stepbrothers Cecil Lee (Robin) Rhoades and Rodney Rhoades and two stepsisters Iris (Jim) Wheeler and Marie (Larry) Clay, eight grandchildren; and sisters-in-law Cindy Kump and Kathy Rhoades.
His family would like to thank Crestwood Care Center staff and Dr. Hall for the care they provided.
There will be no services. Arrangements entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
He will be missed by his family and his wonderful friends but he is no longer in pain.
