Dale Jorgensen Gifford, Loving husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather, passed from this life to the next on September 15, 2024 of causes incident to age.
Dale Gifford was born on January 5, 1934 in Salina. Utah. He was born at the home of his Grandma Jorgensen. He is the youngest of four children. Dale spent his younger years in Fruita, (Capitol Reef), Torrey and Salina, Utah attending school and helping his family in their fruit orchard. He graduated from Wayne High School. Following graduation he enlisted in the Navy and served during the Korean War.
Upon returning, he dated his sweetheart Carolyn Jackson of Fremont, Utah. They were married and sealed in the Manti temple. Dale spent his career working as a civilian employee with the US Air Force, At Hill Air force Base and Whiteman Base in Warrensburg Missouri.
Dale and Carolyn raised their family in Clearfield and Layton Utah. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing, spending time with his family, and working in his garden and orchard. There wasn’t a weed that dared grow under his watch.
After retirement Dale and Carolyn served six full time missions and two at home missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Dale faithfully served in many church callings including being a member of the bishopric in Central Valley, Utah, where they resided for over 22 years.
We are so grateful for his wonderful example and constant love.
Surviving Dale are his wife Carolyn, his Children, Tammy (Jay) Loock, Wayne (Carma) Gifford, Dean Gifford, and Ann (Alan) Harvey. 20 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by His Parents, George Dewey Gifford and Pernellie Jorgensen, His brothers, Lloyd G. Gifford and Fay D. Gifford, his Sister Twila Mattsson, and Great Grand Daughter Selerity Boman.
There will be a viewing at the Central Valley Chapel, 65 N. Main Street, Central Valley, Utah 84754 on Saturday Sept 28, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Followed by a graveside service at Central Valley Cemetery.
We as a family would like to thank all those who gave Dale loving care in his final weeks.
