Dale Henry King

Our husband, father and grandfather, Dale Henry King, 83, passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at McKay-Dee Hospital.

He was born March 8, 1925 in West Point, Utah to James Henry and Clara Youngberg King.

On May 21, 1947, Dale married Darleen Pugmire in the Logan LDS Temple. They spent 61 years together and were blessed with a son and a daughter.

Dale received the Purple Heart while serving his country during World War II. He was involved in his community and coached youth sports.

He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in many church callings including Bishop of the West Point 1st Ward.

His greatest love was his family and he enjoyed spending time with them. He lived to know and enjoy 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Darleen, a son, Lamont "Montie" (Deborah) King, and a daughter, Debra (Ray) Cornia. He is also survived by three brothers, Darrell King, LaMar King, Blaine Thurgood, and two sisters, Ellen Bryson and Verda Bell.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Grant King, Carl King, Lawrence Thurgood, and six sisters, Louise Burningham, Blanche Lish, Della Cook, LaVon Barker, Ruby Hart and Lola Hart.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 30th at 11:00 a.m. at the West Point LDS Chapel, 4383 West 300 North.

Friends and family may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and on Tuesday at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Interment, West Point Cemetery.
