Dale Mietus

August 7, 1962 — February 3, 2022

Dale B. Mietus

August 7, 1962 ~ February 3, 2022

Dale B. Mietus passed away peacefully at his home in Clinton on February 3, 2022, with his loving wife by his side.

Dale was born in Ogden, Utah to Carl Henry Mietus and Noel Carol Mietus, on August 7, 1962. He grew up in Sunset, Utah and attended Sunset Elementary, Sunset Jr. High, and he graduated from Clearfield High in 1980. He then married the love of his life, Susan Padgett, his “Susie-Q,” on March 5, 1982.

Dale worked for Coca-Cola of Ogden until his retirement in 2015. He was a devoted worker who loved his job.  He serviced Weber and Davis Counties, including Hill Air Force Base for over 34 years, making good friends all over the place. Friends and family recall that it was always the highlight of the day to see Dale as he was zooming around town in his red “coke truck.” His other favorite job was working in his yard. Dale was meticulous about his yard and loved spending time playing in his garden—a joy passed on from his wonderful mother, Carol, whom he loved dearly. If you were to stop by the house on the weekend, chances are you would find him working around the yard, cold drink in hand.

Dale loved watching sports and playing sports—especially back-yard volleyball with his bro’s, golfing, and croquet with friends and neighbors. He also loved BBQ’s, taking road trips, riding his Harley motorcycle, passing out soda on Halloween, listening to classic rock music, and watching heart-felt Hallmark family movies. Family or not, he loved and welcomed all.

Dale was a devoted family man who found joy in life being with his family. He loved his children and grandchildren and fought hard to have as much time with them as possible.  He often showed his love through playful teasing, a trait which seems to have been passed down through the family.

Dale loved nothing more than spending time with the love of his life, Sue. She was his rock, standing faithfully by his side through good times and bad. He often said that marrying Susan was the best thing that ever happened to him.

Dale is survived by: his wife Susan; his children: Tyson (Jennifer) Mietus, Ashley (Jeffrey) Mietus, and Terry Mietus; grandchildren: Scottie, Oakley, Claire, Catherine, Charlotte, and James; siblings Suzanne (Reed) Olsen, Keith (Christina) Mietus, Shawn Mietus; and many loving friends of his children who thought of him as a father figure. His family will miss him immensely.

Dale is preceded in death by his father, Carl Henry Mietus, his mother Noel Carol Mietus, and his baby brother Curtis Mietus.

The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the many wonderful doctors, nurses, family, and friends who have taken such good care of Dale. As Dale said, “No one fights alone.”
