Dale Bernett Nelson

August 20, 1952 ~ May 27, 2017

Our sweet, loving husband, dad, grandpa, brother, and uncle, Dale Bernett Nelson, passed away on Saturday, May 27,2017 with his sweetheart, Marilyn, by his side. She is grateful that she was able to be with him until the end.

Dale was born on August 20, 1952 in Ogden, Utah, to Chester Bernett and Pearl Mae Watkins Nelson. He was number 5 of 11 children and loved being part of a large family.

He served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany, prior to meeting the love of his life, Marilyn Bell. Together they raised five wonderful children.

Dale worked at Hill Air Force Base as an electroplater for 32 years and he treasured the friendships he made there.

He loved being up in the mountains, but there was nothing he loved more than his family and friends. He lived for his grandkids. We will miss him dearly.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; children, Sharon, Glenn (Kelli), Annette (Ryan) Ogden, Craig (Brittany), and Connie (Bryson) Doxey; 15 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; brothers: Dave (Anne), Dean (Cris), Ron (Kerry), Steve (Tammy), and Dennis (Donna); sisters, Carol (Jerry) Campbell, Linda (Bryan) Wayment, Marilyn (Kelly) Bodily, and Carolyn (Tom) Farrell and Loyd’s wife, Shirley. His parents and older brother, Loyd preceded him in death and welcomed him home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 2, 2017 at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. The family will meet with friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
