Dale E. Penrod, 91, passed away Monday, July 16, 2012.

He was born May 21, 1921 in West Warren to George M. and Sarah Maria Hodson Penrod. He was raised and educated in West Warren and West Weber and graduated from Weber High School in 1939.

On March 7, 1942, Dale married Inez East in Malad, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple.

He lived on a farm and learned to work hard at a young age. He went to school in Vallejo, California to learn the welding trade. He worked for Kaiser and Mare Island Shipyards. He had been a member of the Pipe Fitters Association for 50 years.

Dale and Inez lived in Vallejo for several years before returning to West Warren where they purchased his Grandfather Hodson''s farm. He continued with welding and spent his time farming, raising hay, grain and Hereford cattle.

Dale is survived by his wife, Inez, his children, Blair Penrod and Sherrie (Lynn) Larkin, six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and a brother, Gary Penrod.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Joe, Marlon K., Marion, Ross, and two sisters, Freda and Reva.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 21st at 11 a.m. at the West Warren Ward Chapel, 5900 West 856 North.

The family will meet with friends on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. and Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.

Interment, West Warren Cemetery.
