Dallas M. East

OGDEN - Dallas Marriott East passed away Sunday, December 12, 2010 and is finally at peace and running free.

Dallas was born in Ogden to Harvey and Della East on September 7, 1938. He graduated from Ogden High School before beginning his career as a welder and steel fabricator.

He was very proud of his many professional accomplishments including his work on the Salt Palace and the jet walkways that we all use today. He also enjoyed working on oilrigs and prefabricated steel buildings in California.

Some of Dallas''s most cherished times were working on a ranch in Cedar Valley, Utah, and spending time in the outdoors hunting and fishing. He loved sitting on his front porch in Mackay Idaho, laughing and shooting the breeze with friends and family.

Dallas was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and a devoted son. He spent his last years caring for first both parents, and then his beloved mother after his father passed away. He so cherished and enjoyed the time they spent together. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his parents, children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his mother, Della Marriott East, No. Ogden; daughter, Christina (Corbin) Van Nest, Mesquite, NV; son, Ferron (Sondra) East, Idaho Falls, ID; daughter Kelly (Scott) Day, West Valley City; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and sister, Carol Stanger, North Ogden. He will be dearly missed by all.

Dallas is preceded in death by his father, Harvey Negus East. Funeral services for Dallas will be held Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary 3408 Washington Blvd.

Family will greet friends at the mortuary on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday 12:45 to 1:45 p.m.

Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
