Dan Roy Chambers
LAYTON – Dan Roy Chambers, 86, passed away Friday, January 22, 2010 at Davis Hospital. He was born August 11, 1923 in Harrison, AK, the son of John H. and Edna Miller Chambers. He married Deloris Schumacher and they were later divorced. He then married Elizabeth Wood who preceded him in death. He served in the Army in WWII and was employed as a warehouseman at DDO Ogden.
Dan enjoyed fishing, traveling, playing cards with his family and watching his grandchildren play sports.
He is survived by son Robin (Susie), stepson Richard E. Woods, Jr., daughter Penny (Chuck) Dunning, step-daughters Shirley Crawford, Margie Love and Betty Girarido. Also survived by sister Betty, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, 16 step-great-grandchildren, and four step-great-great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters, and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 28, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd. Friends and family may gather Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday from 12:45-1:45 p.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden, UT.
