Dana Stockseth Birt
1948 ~ 2021
Dana Stockseth Birt was taken home to her Heavenly Parents on December 3, 2021, at the Huntsman Cancer Institute due to complications of Leukemia surrounded by her family.
Dana was born in February of 1948 to Joseph and Emma Stockseth. She graduated from Clearfield High and enjoyed being a flag twirler and a finalist for the Miss Clearfield Pageant. She worked for D.D.O in Ogden, Utah, and then with the IRS, retiring after 35 years of service in 2011.
Dana met Ralph through some mutual friends in the fall of 1966, who then became the love of her life. In March of 1967, they were married in the Logan Utah Temple for time and all eternity. They have been married for 54 years living and raising their family in South Weber.
Dana was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a hard worker, always busy trying to make her family feel cared for and loved. She enjoyed spending time with her sister Gayle and her aunt Joyce, but her true passion was visiting and playing with her grandkids.
She loved her Heavenly Father and was devoted to serving Him. She showed her devotion to God as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints through service in many positions over her lifetime.
One of those service opportunities was 12 months in the Eugene Oregon Mission with Ralph. Dana and Ralph were assigned to serve in the Prineville area, where they made many eternal friends by sharing their love of God and His gospel with others.
In September of 2014, Dana and Ralph were called to serve in the newly remodeled Ogden Temple. In her assignments there, Dana helped instill the love of Heavenly Father’s beautiful creations in the lives of her co-workers. She found great joy serving in the Temple and made many wonderful friends.
She loved to paint with oil and took many community and private art classes to improve her talent with acrylic and watercolors. She received a Blue Ribbon and a Best of Show at the Davis County Fair for some of her beautiful paintings. Dana shared her love of art with many people, including teaching some of her grandchildren. Dana also had a love of music and was always singing to her children.
Dana liked to travel and enjoy God's beautiful creations. She loved the beaming sun rises above the majestic mountains and the lovely sunsets. She loved the colors of each season and found joy in the beauty thereof. She also enjoyed camping, hiking, and being outdoors with her family and friends.
Dana has left a wonderful legacy of love and service to her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister.
Surviving family is her husband, Ralph Birt; siblings, Joel (Shanna) and Chad (Katreena); children, Stacy (Dave), Tiffany (Curtis), Holly (Mark), Brady (Amy), and Tina; and 19 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
Dana’s family would like to thank all those who showed so much love and dedication in their care for her throughout the cancer journey, both at the McKay Dee Cancer Center and the Huntsman Cancer Center.
