Daniel D. Alsup
NORTH OGDEN - Daniel Dennis Alsup, 73, returned to the arms of his loving wife on Sunday, December 5, 2010 surrounded by his children and grandchildren as he peacefully returned to his heavenly home.
Dan was born January 8, 1937 in his grandmother’s home in Ogden on a cold, snowy day to Dorthy LaVetta and James Alsup. He proudly served his country for 34 years in both the Navy and Air Force and retired as an AOC Navy Chief. Dan was an avid supporter of disabled veterans.
Dan met his wife Patricia Andrew and asked her to marry him on their second date. They were married on May 31, 1957 and were sealed for Time and all Eternity on April 7, 1958 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were blessed with 4 beautiful children, 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Dan and Pat later served together in a genealogical mission.
Dan and Pat settled in North Ogden and lived there together happily until his wife returned to her Heavenly Father on March 23, 2005.
Dan is survived by his children; Dorothy Kress (Richard), Sherril Nelson (Derek), Laurel Stubbs, Dr. Daniel Alsup Jr. (Heidi), grandchildren; Damien, Justin, Brittney, Jason, Briawna, Jarin, Kanion, Matthew, Andrew, Garrett, great-grandchildren and brothers James Alsup (Esther) and William Alsup (Susan), both of California.
He was preceded in death by his lovely wife Patricia Andrew Alsup, his parents James Alsup and Dorthy LaVetta (Alsup) Heren and stepfather Claude Heren, 1 grandchild, 3 great-grandchildren and his favorite uncle Robert Reynolds whom he loved as a second father.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 11 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd.
Friends may visit with family at the mortuary on Friday, December 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, December 11 from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m.
Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery.
