Daniel Simon Atkin

Our amazing and loving husband and dad Daniel Simon Atkin age 33 died October 23, 2016 in a motorcycle accident.

Dan was born July 18, 1983 in Provo, Utah to Blake and Susan Atkin.  He is one of six children.  On January 5, 2002 he married his best friend and high school sweetheart Becky Checketts, daughter of Kim and Susan Checketts.  They have three beautiful kids, Mckenzie Susan Atkin, Austin Douglas Atkin and Katelyn Elizabeth Atkin.

Dan loved his family.  He enjoyed fixing things and mowing lawns with his son.  He enjoyed camping, fishing, wood working, country life, horses, hiking, and spending time with his kids and wife.

From early childhood he grew amazing lifetime friendships with the Pickett, Vidra, and Carling families.   He left a legacy of service, hard work, love and dedication to his family and those he met.  He served many, made great friends, enjoyed his family and the love his siblings gave, in-laws became treasured family, he adored his wife and gave all for his kids.

He is survived by his wife Becky Checketts Atkin, daughter Mckenzie Susan Atkin, son Austin Douglas Atkin, daughter Katelyn Atkin; parents Blake and Susan Atkin; brothers Joseph Atkin (Heidi), Spencer Atkin (Rebecca) and Peter Atkin; sisters Aliza Kroek and Rebekah Hoopes (Neal); grandparents George and Elma Atkin; Ruth Price.  Preceded in death by his grandpa Howard Price.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 pm October 31, 2016 at the Bear River City LDS Church, 5870 N. 4700 W. Bear River City, Utah.  Friends may visit family Sunday, October 30, 2016 from 6-8 pm at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. and Monday from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm at the Church prior to services.  Interment Bear River City Cemetery.
