Daniel James Doyle, Jr.

Daniel James Doyle, Jr., 83, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 11, 2017 with family by his side.

He was born March 29, 1933 in Ogden, Utah to Daniel James and Helen Lindstrom Doyle. He was raised in Farr West where he worked on a neighboring farm before leaving to join the military.

Daniel married his sweetheart of 57 years, Margaret Veneta Wright on February 18, 1955. After several duty stations they planted roots in the Roy area where they resided for 45 years, making a loving and welcoming home.

Daniel enlisted in the US Air Force in April 1950, at the age of 17. He was extremely proud of his military service and always expressed a love of country. After almost 21 years of service and achieving the rank of MSGT, he retired from the Air Force and went to work for Ogden City as a supervisor at the Ogden City Water Treatment Plant.

He was a man of many talents. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, fishing and caring for his animals. Family was his pride and joy.

Daniel is survived by his four children, Timothy (Liz) Doyle, Richard (Louise) Doyle, Dennis Doyle, Barbara (John) Dean; ten grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Judy Crase and Helen Scadden. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one brother, two sisters and one grandson.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Chancellor Gardens Assisted Living, the kind and caring staff in Connections for Living, and Symbii Hospice for their exceptional care.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 17, 2017 at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. The family will meet with friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, West Warren Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to a Dementia/Alzheimer’s organization of your choice.
