Daniel LeRoy Edgell
April 2, 1940 ~ January 26, 2022
Daniel LeRoy Edgell passed away January 26, 2022 at his home. He was born to Daniel Harrison Edgell and Fannie Frances Zumwalt.
After serving a mission to Australia he attended BYU where he met his wife of 57 years, LeNae Wight. They both graduated from BYU with a degree in accounting.
Dan loved to be busy and his favorite hobby was building things. His greatest project was his cabin in South Fork. Everyone could take a turn helping to build it and then they got their initials carved in the big wooden door. Many good times were enjoyed there by family, friends, scouts, and ward members. Dan was a very dedicated scout leader where he enjoyed camping and dutch oven cooking with the boys.
Dan was very active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many positions such as, ward clerk, bishopric member, Stake High Council, temple worker, and service missionary.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Fannie F. Edgell; sister, Goldie Campbell; and brother, Robert Edgell.
He is survived by his wife, LeNae Wight Edgell; children, Elizabeth Giddens, Becky (Martyn) Conway, David (Juneanne) Edgell, Mark (Anna-Marie) Edgell; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 3, 2022 at 11 am at the church at 2200 South 4300 West, Ogden, UT. Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 6-8 pm at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 W. 5600 S. and Thursday from 9:30-10:30 am at the church. Interment, Fielding City Cemetery.
