Daniel Favero, 88, passed away Friday, June 24, 2016 of natural causes. Daniel was born February 8, 1928 in Taylor, Utah, the son of Giovanni Favero and Hazel Daley Favero.

On March 17, 1953, Daniel married Carol Leola Ebert in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They are the parents of five children, fourteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

He was educated in the Weber County Schools, graduating from Weber High School in 1946. He graduated from Utah State University in 1950 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education, with a composite major in business and English. He graduated from Oregon State University with a Master’s Degree in 1959. He did additional course work toward his Ph.D at the University of Arizona in 1966 and 1967. He completed the Certified Public Accounting examination in 1968. He held memberships in the American Institute of CPA’s, American Accounting Association and Utah Association of CPA’s.

Daniel started his teaching career in 1950 at Central Jr. High School, moved to the new Ben Lomond High School in 1953, and started teaching at Weber State University in 1959, where he taught several business subjects and accounting for the next thirty-three years. He also taught accounting at the University of Arizona while on sabbatical leave working on his Ph.D. He retired from teaching in 1992, after having taught forty-two years.

In addition to teaching, he worked as a CPA at several local firms, kept books for two of his brothers businesses for many years and worked on a family farm in Taylor. He was an avid supporter of Weber State athletics for fifty years.

Daniel was an active member of the LDS church, serving in may callings. He enjoyed memorizing and reciting poems and often used them in the lessons he taught in church.

The most important event in his life was during the fall of 1951, while attending a church dance, a girl with dark hair, pretty eyes and a cute smile caught his eyes. He got her number, arranged a date and married Carol Ebert Favero on March 17, 1953 in the Salt Lake LDS temple. They were happily married for forty six years.
