Dan Ritter Lee

Dan R. Lee passed away on May 3, 2023 at St. Marks Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, surrounded by his family.  He was born in Fort Collins, Colorado on November 10, 1935, to Dr. Robert M. and Elizabeth Moore Lee.

Dan graduated from the University of Colorado in 1958 with a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Business Management.  He moved to Utah to pursue his engineering career and passion for skiing.  He retired from Unisys Defense Systems in Salt Lake City after more than 35 years.

Dan married his wife Janelle on July 25, 1958, in Gladstone, Michigan

Dan served in the United States Army, was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity and a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Dan loved skiing, playing the violin, fly fishing, solving Sudoku Puzzles and traveling the world.

He was preceded in death by his brother Allen, father, mother, sister Roberta Hildy and son Craig.

He is survived by his wife Janelle, daughter Lori Mickelson (Brett), grandson Dylan Lee (Stacie), granddaughter Tess Lee-Leyva (Brian), as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the entire staff at St. Marks Hospital for their kind and supportive care. Care was entrusted to Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary.
