Daniel Glenn Nelson

Our beloved husband, father, son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew and friend, Daniel Glenn Nelson, 28, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, September 24, 2024, in Hooper, Utah. Daniel was born December 5, 1995, to Christie Child Muir and Glenn V Nelson in Ogden, Utah. Daniel was greeted by his big sister Brooke who loved to give him snuggles. 

As a toddler, Daniel could be found riding his bouncy horse with his loving mom singing Ride ‘Em Cowboy. The movies "I Dig Dirt” and the “Little Horse That Could” got worn out from his love of all things boy. He also had a love for all his pets including the exotic ones (ducks, hamsters, geckos and rats).

In 2003, Daniel’s dad married Kelli (Surrage) where he gained two more sisters Katie and Kelsie, as well as two brothers BJ and Bryan. 

He enjoyed playing sports during his younger years, including baseball, basketball and football. He also had fun raising lambs and hogs to show in the Weber County 4-H program at the fair. He learned at a young age to hunt with his dad, bonus mom, brothers, sisters and extended family. His love for hunting included deer and waterfowl. 

Daniel attended Roy Elementary, Roy Jr High and graduated from Roy High School in 2014. He met Peery Sherrod as a Royal and would later be married on December 30, 2014. They welcomed Preslee on July 16, 2015. They later divorced.

Daniel attended Otech to become a Journeyman plumber and worked at Brent Alvey plumbing alongside his dad. 

He met his soul mate Mariah Sadler, and they married, May 7, 2022. He became a loving dad to Emry. Together they grew their family and welcomed Waylon and Carley to their home in Clinton, Utah. 

Daniel and Mariah enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting as a family. Daniel shared his love for watching sports with his family, which grew from the time he spent with his dad, Glenn. He was an avid Jazz fan, taking his loved ones to games whenever they had the opportunity. 

Daniel is survived by his loving wife; Mariah, children; Preslee, Emry, Waylon and Carley. His mom; Christie Muir, bonus mom; Kelli Nelson, siblings; Brooke (TJ) Bean, Katie (Jake) Hansen, Kelsie Gee, BJ Gee and Bryan Gee. Grandparents; Marilyn Nelson, Lois Jeffs, Dale and Jeanie Child, and Val and Glenna Surrage. He is also survived by many in-laws, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his dad Glenn, bonus dad Stan Muir, grandpas Dale Nelson and Steve Jeffs, uncle Craig Nelson, and cousin Kenzan Ployhar.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 W. 5600 S. Roy, Utah. The family will meet with friends and loved ones on Tuesday, Oct. 1st. from 6 to 8 p.m. as well as Wednesday, Oct. 2nd from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary.
