Danny Jr. was born to Daniel Owen and Carrie Shreeve Sainsbury, on Dec. 15, 1988, in Grand Junction, Colorado and passed away in the early morning hours of April 17, 2023 in Ogden, Utah. Danny, attended Davis County Schools: Adams Elementary, North Layton Junior High, and attended Northridge High School for two years, then attended and graduated from Box Elder High School in 2007.
Danny grew up in East Layton and had many wonderful friends and neighbors who loved him. Danny participated in many sporting activities, including football and soccer. He was also a Boy Scout and attended many outdoor activities at scout camps. He loved to go with his Dad, who was the Scoutmaster, even before he was old enough.
Danny loved and enjoyed camping with his family, riding motorcycles, fishing and enjoying the great outdoors. Danny was an avid reader, he especially loved the scriptures and he really understood and believed that Families are Forever. Danny learned to also play the piano, two years ago, and thoroughly enjoyed playing, and had a wonderful teacher. One of his favorite songs were, “Where Do I Go for Peace?” He searched so hard to find that peace.
Danny also had many jobs over the last six years, working at Smith's, Macey's and USPS in West Valley City. He made many wonderful friends at work and really enjoyed his job. Danny was an Elder in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints. He was able to receive his Temple Endowments in the Spring of 2022, in the Ogden, Temple. It was truly the happiest day of his life.
But Danny struggled for many years with addiction and depression. Danny had recovered from all his addictions, and made a personal goal to never go back to that life, and he never did. He had been clean for five, going on six years, but part of his addiction, from years past, had caused a mental illness until the very end. But he truly fought a valiant fight. We love you Danny, we are so proud how far you had come. Your family loves and misses you so much. Our hearts are so broken at this time, but we have the understanding of the redeeming love and grace of our Savior Jesus Christ, we know we will see you again. Danny, you always had the sweetest heart of all and it carried you throughout this life. We know now that heaven must have needed a angel just like you.
Danny is survived by his dad, and his mom; all his wonderful siblings and their spouses, Rebecca (Brandt) Hogge , Hooper, Utah; Heather (Riley) Sainsbury, Wellsville, Utah; and Taylor (Alix) Sainsbury, Washington Terrace, Utah; seven nieces and nephews, Brylee, Cache, Ellie, Talya, Sage, Aspyn, and little Hayden, who is due in June; grandparents, Warren and Connie Gaston, Farmington, Utah, and many aunts and uncles and cousins who loved him so much.
