Daniel Patrick Simmons

March 16, 1964 ~ May 30, 2014

Our beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, Daniel Patrick Simmons, 50, passed away Friday, May 30, 2014, in Layton, Utah after a long and painful battle with addiction.

He was born March 16, 1964 in Roseville, California to Patricia and Stuart Arthur Simmons, Sr.

Danny attended Roy High School and later earned his GED. He was a fabulous artist and in his earlier years would spend countless hours sketching and drawing his creations to perfection.

On April 12, 1997, Danny married Elaine Runyan. Although they were later divorced they remained the best of friends, right up to the end.

Danny was also a jack-of-all-trades and could repair or construct anything that was placed before him; if it needed to be done it was done to perfection.

He was the owner and operator of Budget Tree Service and Savon-Tree Service. He had a great love of nature and could tell you the name of any tree, bush, or insect.

Danny was a friend to anyone he would cross paths with and could see the good in all people. He loved the Lord and would spend countless hours reading the Bible and sharing his love of Christ with anyone who would listen.

Danny is remembered with love by his loving mother and step-father, Patricia and Darrell (Pete) Call, his sisters, Dawn (Kenny) Fuit, Dottie (Shay) Mendoza, Casey (Danny) Christensen, his brother, Stuart Simmons, Jr., his best friend, Elaine Runyan-Simmons, and his step-sons, Nathan Runyan and Justin Runyan.

He was preceded in death by his father, Stuart Sr., his sister, Bobbie Jo Call, and all of his grandparents.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Danny’s memory to America First Credit Union, acct # 9066184.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 7th at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. The family will meet with friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
