SYRACUSE a€" Danny Ascano Rayos, 59, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2008.

He was born December 21, 1948 in General Trias, Cavite Philippines the son of Alberto and Celeste Ascano Rayos.

He was reared and educated in the Philippines. Danny lived in San Diego, California and has resided in Syracuse for the past nine years.

Danny married Merella Dones on March 15, 1973 in Cavite, Philippines. He served in the U.S. Air force during the Vietnam War.

Danny was a member of the Catholic Church and a member of the Filipino American Association.

He liked golfing, bowling, traveling and spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends.

Surviving are his wife Merella Dones, Syracuse; Raydon (Kenna) Rayos, Surprise, AZ; Darrell Rayos, Sacramento, CA; daughter, Relalyn Rayos, Killen, TX; three grandchildren; mother, Celeste Ascano Rayos, Philippines; three brothers, Albert (Arlene) Rayos, Japan; Virgil (Remy) Rayos, Las Vegas, NV; Robert Rayos, San Diego, CA; and sister, Nilda Soriano, San Diego, CA.

Preceded in death by his father and brother, Romie Rayos.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 17, 2008 at 7 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, San Diego, California Cemetery.
