Darla Jene McCulloch
OGDEN a" Darla Jene McCulloch, 47, passed away Saturday, February 2, 2008 following a long and very courageous battle with breast cancer.
She was born May 26, 1960 in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of Richard "Dick" McCulloch of Ogden and Carol Walters (Richard) Keller of Layton. She was raised in both Utah and California where she graduated from Milpitas High School. In later years she became a Certified Massage Therapist and Physical Fitness Trainer specializing in deep tissue, medical reiko, and reflexology sports.
Darla was a gorgeous girl who was guided by her heart. She loved anything having to do with sports and the outdoors. While living in California, Darla enjoyed several activities with her lifelong friends including: camping, hiking, river-rafting, motorcycling, and playing golf. She was loving, adventurous, compassionate, and had a special gift with animals, especially her dog Lucky and bird DJ, who were a great comfort to her during her four and one-half year battle with cancer. Darla had a special fondness for dolphins, collecting all types of memorabilia and pictures. She was ecstatic and very appreciative when her long-time wish to swim with dolphins actually came true in June of 2007, provided by the compassionate gift from her family, relatives, and Vista Care Hospice employees.
Darla is survived by her parents, Richard C. McCulloch, Carol O. Keller; stepparents, Richard Keller and Annette Wheeler McCulloch, brothers, David, Darin, Bryant McCulloch and Rick Keller, sister, Karie McCulloch Howard and nephews, Daeton McCulloch, Austin, Kydon, Escher Howard and niece, Kalie McCulloch.
The family would like to thank all the relatives, friends, neighbors and church members who provided assistance to her during her illness. We would like to extend our thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Huntsman Cancer Center, Vista Care Hospice, and Wasatch Care Center who provided medical care.
Family will meet friends at the Shadow Ridge Ward Chapel, 1401 E. Country Hills Dr. (42nd Street) on Thursday from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to memorial services at 3 p.m.
