Darlene Fryer

On Saturday, February 1, 2020, Darlene Tullis Fryer, loving wife, mother of 5, grandmother of 13 and great grandmother of 16 passed away at the age of 81.  Darlene was born on August 20, 1938, in Ogden, Utah. In her early childhood, she lived in Wilson Lane, Utah.  She later moved to Roy, Utah when she was about 7 years old.  Darlene married Rolla A. Fryer in the Salt Lake Temple on Sept 13, 1957.  They were married for 63 years.  Darlene returned home to join her family that preceded her in death: her father David "D"Tullis, her mother Eveline Tullis, her two brothers, David "Lavore" Tullis, Keith Tullis, and her sister Caroline Cady. She is survived by her husband Rolla, and two sisters, Donna (Leon) Bitton and Dixie (Jeff) Williamson, sister-in-law Peggy Tullis, and brother-in-law Mike (Susan) Cady.  Darlene & Rolla have 5 children and their spouses: Darla Bohn,  Rolene (Even ) Mitton, Darroll(Amy) Fryer, Ron (Susan) Fryer, and Criss (Stephanie) Fryer, as well as 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Darlene was a stay at home nurturing mother of five children, grandchildren, and many neighborhood children.  While her health permitted, she enjoyed sewing, needlepoint, quilting, ceramics, collecting dolls and playing the piano and organ.  Darlene scrapbooked and compiled poetry and stories. The clicking keystrokes, ding, and the screeching of the old typewriter carriage return could often be heard at the Fryer home. Darlene loved doing crafts with her sisters on sister’s day, camping, riding motorcycles and ATV's with her family.  She also enjoyed genealogy data work, recording her favorite cassettes with artists like Beryl Ives, Eddie Arnold, and the 4 Rs.  She was a competitive game player and spent countless hours playing and visiting with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
