DARLENE MAE NAYLOR GROSS
Darlene Mae Naylor Gross of Mountain Green, previously of Layton passed away on May 29, 2021 in her daughter, Lisa’s loving arms. She was joined in a grand family reunion in Heaven.
Darlene was born to Charles H. and Ethel M. Naylor on May 7, 1930 in Ogden, Utah. She graduated from Ogden High School in 1948. Upon graduation she worked at Ogden High School as the secretary to the Dean of Women. She later was employed by Intermountain Printing, where she met her future husband, Robert E. Gross (Bob). They were married on October 20, 1950 in Ogden, Utah. She was then employed by Utah General Depot as a secretary, and continued to work until she started having children. Her and Bob had six children. She was a very loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Later in life she was employed by IRS as a tax examiner for 25 plus years.
Darlene enjoyed her family, reading, walking, most sports and especially the Utah JAZZ games. She loved nature and bird watching.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, received her endowments and was sealed to her deceased husband in 2010.
Darlene was survived by her daughter, Teri Bertagnolli (Frank), son Ronald Gross, daughter Nancy Benson, son Kevin Gross, daughter Lisa Ivie (Gary), sister Linda Morris, seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband, son Robert Jay Gross, brother Floyd Naylor and wives June and Laverne, brother Charles Ray Naylor and wife Colleen, sister Shirley Naylor and brother-in-law Marvin Morris.
She was greatly adored and loved by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Private graveside services will held at Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah.
