Darlene Maestas

CLEARFIELD – Darlene Templeton Maestas, 65, passed away Monday, August 27, 2018 in Clearfield, Utah.  She was born September 26, 1952 to Robert Allen and Mildred E Steed Templeton in Salt Lake City, Utah.  She was the third of four daughters.

She married Amarante “Sunny” Joe Maestas. They later divorced. They had a daughter, Bobbie Jo Maestas.  Bobbie Jo was the light of Darlene’s life.

Darlene worked for many years for CSC at Hill Air Force Base.

Darlene loved spending time with her grandchildren.   They completed her world.  It was always fun to play card and put puzzles together with grandma.  Her highlight was when the children would call and sing their favorite songs to her.  They brought so much joy into her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter. She is survived by her grandchildren Wyatt, Kylee, Jada and Katelyn Barnett, sisters, Judy (Curtis) Carter, Barbara (Alan) Thurgood, and Carolyn (Rod) Shepherd.

Special thanks to all those care givers over the years and especially to her sisters, nieces, and nephews who took their time to visit, care and make sure she had everything she needed.   She would want you all to know how much she appreciated all your help and assistance.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.  Friends may visit family Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary.
