Darlene Cook Marble of Ogden passed away early Friday morning, October 28, 2011. She was 72.

Darlene was born in Ogden on January 1, 1939 to Nephi and Francis Cook. She attended Ogden High School and she spent much of her adult life caring for others as a nursing assistant.

Darlene was a lover of history and her genealogical research was widely admired by those who knew her. She was also a fiercely proud Scot who was steadfast in conviction and unshakable in character. But Darlene will be remembered best for her unflagging, infectious optimism and her mischievous sense of humor. She was a truly beautiful person who raised the spirits of everyone she knew.

Darlene is survived by daughters Donna Stockman; Nina Boulware; and Bonnie Petersen; and sons Gordon and Richard Petersen. She is also survived by brothers Kenneth; Lynn; Karl; and Keith; and by sister Sharon Cook.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Dean Marble; her daughter Deborah Freedle; brothers LeGrande; Robert; Rodney; Junior Nephi; and Baby Cook; as well as sister Elma Cook.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday November 2, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ogden City Cemetery, 1875 Monroe Blvd. Family will meet with friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary 3408 Washington Blvd.
